Part 11. General1.0 Super Soccer League The SSL was established in Jan 2000 . The SSL was set up by Shawn Grace. 1.1. SSL Structure The SSL consists of 30 teams. Each team has at least one ACTIVE manager to operate it. No person can manage 2 teams except in extreme circumstances where the SSL Board's approval has been given, and the entire league notified (note this situation often only occurs when a manager is acting as caretaker for another manager for a short period of time) 1.1.1. Applying for a Position as Manager Current managers have the opportunity to apply for vacant jobs with other teams when the SSL Board notifies the league they are open for applications. Current managers can make certain conditionals for them to take the new position such as a certain bank balance be made available, or the swapping of certain players between the managers current team and the team with the vacancy. The manager who wins the position is chosen based upon the extent of their conditions they asked for, and also their previous managing records (not necessarily the win/loss ratio, but also the general league participation, and reliability). New managers are appointed to teams without managers from the Waiting List. For a person who wishes to join the SSL to enter the Waiting List, they must email the Commissioner. It should be noted that positions do not arise often, and therefore a lengthy waiting period may occur. When a position becomes available for a New manager, several candidates from the Waiting List are chosen, primarily based on the length of time they have been on the list. After the candidates have been asked if they are still interested, the SSL Board will decide which candidate shall take the job. 1.2. SSL Board The SSL Board controls the operation of the SSL. The main members make the majority of decisions in the league, however, often these decisions come after consultation with all involved parties. 1.3. Fines The SSL Board reserves the right to fine teams when they believe a team has acted outside of the rules directly or indirectly, or outside the spirit of the game by using in-appropriate conduct. 1.4. Appeals & Protests If a manager believes the SSL Board has treated them unfairly, they may appeal any decisions made. The appeal is made to the Board itself. If the Board does not accept the appeal, the rest of the league shall be asked to form an opinion. Note, if the appeal ends up unsuccessful, there remains a possibility heavier penalty may be incurred. Furthermore, if a manager believes another manager has acted inappropriately then they must appeal to the SSL Board. The SSL Board will only act when it receives a complaint or appeal from another manager. 2. Competitions2.1. League Competition The SSL is divided to 3 divisions, containing 10 teams. During the season, each team play each other team twice, therefore there are 18 rounds in a single season. 2.1.1. Relegation and Promotion At the end of the season, the last two teams in the Premiership and Division 1 are relegated , . The champions of Division 1 and Division 2 are promoted .The second placed teams have a two legged playoff with the third placed teams. The winner of these Playoffs also get promoted. 2. Cup Competitions2.2.1. SSL Challenge Cup The format is similar to FA Cup. But it will be played on a two legged format. With away goals counting double. All teams will be randomly drawn. The first round of the cup will be a prelimery round. 16 teams will be drawn at random. 2.3. Friendlies Teams can only play friendlies during the off-season. If you wish to play a friendly, organize it with another manager and advise the league commisioner at least one week in advance. The statistics from friendlies doesn't count for league games. Therefore, if a players gets suspended or booked in a friendly game, it does not affect his DP level. Players which are suspended in a league or cup game, still can play in friendlies. 2.4. Other Competitions At certain times the SSL Board may introduce other competitions. This includes International games such as the World Cup, Multi-League games, All-Star games and so forth. 3. Adding to the game3. Newsletters, Press Releases, Team Websites and "Soccer News" One highly enjoyable part of the SSL is when managers write their own team Newsletters and/or Press Releases. This is a fun part of the SSL but not all managers have to do this. At present, many managers write their team newsletters and press releases and send them to everyone via the mailing list. These can contain almost anything like an interview with players and managers, transfer listing of players, and player transfers, any match analysis and just about anything happening at their club. 3.1 "Super Soccer Gazzette" Magazine Further to this there is also a League Magazine called Super Soccer Gazzette. This is posted on the website. Super Soccer Online contains various info on clubs and the league, and generally provides an opportunity for managers who do not write their own team newsletters and press releases to have their say. Anything you'd like to send to Super Soccer Gazzette mag can be forwalded to the magazine editor (see the admin page) or the league commisioner. 3.2 Submiting a new team logo, colours etc New team logos and kit colours, stadium names etc (displayed on the Info pages of this site) can be submited to the League Commisioner for consideration. Logos must be 200 x 200 (pixels) in jpeg format. Team Kit images must be 200 x 100 (pixels) in jpeg format. A Team kit template image can be obtained from the League Commisioner, or by emailing Anillusion Design( zero9999@senet.com.au ) 4. End-Of-Season Awards4.1 At the end of each season, the SSL has various awards it gives out to players, managers and teams. Some of these awards are based on voting by other managers. These include the Player-of-the-Year (each Div and overall), the Youth-Player-of-the-Year (players under 20, each Div and overall), and the Manager-of-the-Year (each Div and overall). None of these awards carry any financial or ability point bonuses, and are only for prestige. 4.2 The team with the least number of DP's on their team at the end of the season is awarded the Fair Play Award. Again this carries no bonus and is only for prestige. 4.3 The player who scores the most goals in their Division and also overall receive the Golden Boot Award.
